A comic strip told only with captions? Isn’t that illegal in modern comics? Look how effective that is! Captions have a purpose. They add texture, background and atmosphere to a comic strip. How many of today’s comics have that? I remember seeing a preview on line of a comic book adaptation of a Lovecraft story told only with pictures and dialogue, which ignored the fact that Lovecraft’s descriptions were what made his stories work.
“The Old Man in the Picture” was very well paced. Story told well in 11 panels! NOT EASY TO DO! Nicely done, R. Sala.
