Elijah Brubaker joins us to talk about writing, juggling new projects, the satisfaction of drawing, putting aside work you don’t love and being OK with it, and more. Elijah is the author of the excellent biography Reich & Jezebel, which was originally serialized here on Study Group but soon to be a handsome print edition from Uncivilized Books.
Elijah ALSO talks up the bombastic but underrated 80’s American-Ninja-meets-Akira-meets-Red-Dawn-meets-Stand-By-Me-meets-Cannon-Films/everything in a blender comic Nth MAN: The Ultimate Ninja by Larry Hama, Ron Wagner & Dale Keown, published by Marvel from 1989-1990. Zack is somewhat more earnest in his appreciation for Nth Man than Elijah, but they both have good things to say about it.
At the top of the show, Mike and Zack also discuss what’s been going on with them recently – including the hotly anticipated NYCC convention report Mike promised us last week.
